The final abatement date for the implementation of feasible engineering controls for dust is July 31, 1981. Do you anticipate meeting this abatement date or will you request an extension of time for abatement? If you request an extension (Petition for Modification of Abatement) , the following information is required by our regulations (29 CFR 1903.14a): 1. Steps you have taken so far in an effort to achieve compliance, and dates of those steps; 2. Additional time period you need to comply; 3. Why you need additional time; 4. Interim steps ycu are taking to safeguard your employees against the cited hazard during abatement period; 5. A statement that the petition has been posted, and, if appropriate, served on an authorized representative of affected employees.
