On December 15, 1979, I reviewed this procedure (VI I 1-22) with all Insulation and Labor Craft Supervisor's because of several deficiencies that have been observed in recent months. It was pointed out in this meeting that the pipefitters also are occasionally exposed to asbestos as a result of stripping insulation that contains asbestos. Therefore, we would like for each of you to review Procedure VI I 1-22 in your Supervisor's Manual and then review and discuss this procedure with all employees under your direct supervision.
