Folks, Please provide the requested data to Cathy Barton (see attached e-mail) for the DDE process
(Kalrez) and the DFS process by 4/11. Ed I understand you have a deadline of mid-April with Steve for the Telomere information.
Along with the requested data I would also like the first cut at a mass balance for your process at the same time, (due 4/11).
The mass balance should look at PFOA in and how it is partitioned, as it is used or recycled in the process.
I.e., under normal operating conditions - amount in (rate, #s)
- amount to air (fugitive and stack estimates)
- amount to air control devices (where to effluent go? what is in effluent?) - amount to waste water - amount with product - other - solid wastes, heels, other disposal methods.
Also need to look at Start-ups/Shut-downs or non-normal operating conditions
Is the partiioning rate dependent? campaign dependent? do you believe we need to collect samples to support the mass balance.
W e need to develop fairly accurate data so it can be used to support sample we will be collecting starting as soon as 4/14..
Ed, Can you review this with Greg, and explain the records hold order.
Many thanks... . ----------------------------- Forwarded by Ann K Masse/HO/DuPont on 04/02/2003 06:03 PM --

John/Steve/Ed,
Thanks for taking the time to attend the meeting today and help us gather this important data. Just to recap, the areas that we are looking into (excluding the Environmental Treatment area/stripper/lab) are DuDow Building 1163 with one building vent
EID747737
DuPont's recycling operations in Building 1205 with one stack with a scrubber And possibly the Telomers operation in Building 1156 T he information we need for each of these sources is: 1. Stack/vent height 2. Diameter (effective diameter is great) 3. Velocity or flowrate 4. Temperature of the stack gas 5. Emission rate Charlie or I will get back to you on whether we have the right building information for these sources after w e understand the stack/vent height. Please call either of us if you have any questions. Thanks again, Cathie
