Therefore our engineers were Tree lo use their ingenuity in designing and coordinating all the various factors that compose the units. -- heating surface, burners, controls and other essentials. -- so that maximum heat output would be obtained. The resultant Infill elliciency and accurate control is an assurance of lowest operatin': and maintenance cost compatible with ample comfort in the rooms. American* las Boilers are outstanding examples of flood engineering and manufacturinji skill. Thev brine the advantages and convenience of automatic gas heat ing to homes and buildiiifis of all types and sizes. Designed by eas heatim: experts of lone experience, they possess a host of features which assure efficient, fuel-sax iiie and carefree performance. These are illustrated and described on next pafie. Whether used sinflly or in battery. American (ias Boilers may be depended upon lor satisfactory heat ing and enduring service. 3*IM<:CISIO\ rOXTIIOI S For uLmo't safety and economy American (las Boilers are equipped with precise, dependable controls. \mong them is the special Ihcrmolor Throttling lake that works from the mom thermostat. EFFICIENT IK UN EH -- Par allel sets of raised drilled port butners are standard: one set enters front the front of the boiler, tinother set from the rear. Smaller gas volume per burner provides quiet operation. Ribbon burners for man ufactured gas are optional. Note: An outstanding feature of larger Standard Gas Boilers is the number of flow tappings provided. For example, types 4-G-13 to 4-G-21 inclusive have 4-6*. types 4-G-22 to 4-G-31 have 6-6", and types 4-G-33 to 4-G-41 have 8-6* flow tappings. Their use slows down steam velocity and helps prevent entrainment of water. 13017 STANDARD GAS BOILERS TYPE 4-6 RATINGS AND DIMENSIONS ~iD r toiler V. i- l-ft 1- 11- l-II 1- 1-4 1- i-|0 1- ,-l 1 V< \ 1 mm Him \(i.\ HATtNf; ></ FT. W ith proper care these boilers will last indefinitely. EASY INSTALLATION Type l-(i and l-(i Boilers come in individual sections which may be carried through any ordinary door way. They are easily and quickly assembled, due to accuracy of machining interchangeable parts. On l-(i Boilers a long steam header can be used, utiliz ing llow tappings on both the left and right hand ends of boiler. On longer boilers considerable sav ings can be ell'ecteil in installation, because steam llow lappings are provided on front and rear sur faces. making the header shorter and reducing weight In be handled. CIIIM.XKY DATA It is of utmost importance that products of com bustion be removed by providing a Hue connection and chimney of adequate size and of proper con struction. To avoid any appreciable draft which would result in unnecessary heat losses or improper combustion, all American Gas Boilers are provided with Draft Hoods. Dampers must not be used. Chimneys should be of the best const met ion. lined with glazed tile or terra cotta with carefully cemented joints. They should be sufficiently high to insure a regular draft under all weather conditions, and should extend II feet above Hat buildings or 2 feet above the ridges of peak-roofs--this applies par ticularly to adjoining buildings. The following table gives the diameters in inches of round lines recommended for dilferent heights of chimneys for individual boilers and batteries of more than one. i i.i i: size iti:i o>i>ii:\i> \tio\s Ih.tler No l-G-l i -t;-: l-G-6 l-G-7 CHIMNEY HEIGHT IN FEET 10 .*0 40 SO IMA.MKTKH INCHES ft ft 6 7 7 <> a77 88 ` HoiU r No m ;-b 4-G-10 4-G-II 4-G-I3 CHIMNEY HEIGHT IN FEET in -'0 <0 sn MIA.MKTRR INCHES 12 11 ti 10 12 12 ii 11 13 12 : 12 11 11 13 18 12 Hoilrr No 4-0-28 4-G-81 Mi-83 4-G-37 CHIMNEY HEIGHT IN FEET HI JO 40 SO ntA.MITIlU INCIIKS 20 lb 18 17 > > 20 lb 18 20 19 19 2~l 22 20 20 Hoikr No l-G-3.3 4-( i-37 4-0-41 CHIMNEY HEIGHT IN FEET IO Jll 40 SO niAMKTKR INCIIKS 30 1 28 , 28 32 I 30 ; 28 31 1 32 30 2h 28 28 1-0-8 i-g-9 it a a 8 4-0-15 15 n i 18 18 4-G-41 2t 21 v> 20 3 Boi | lers i 9 8 a 8 4-<i-17 16 15 1 1 11 > Boi lors 4-0-28 . . i 32 ! 30 30 l-G-l(t b b a 8 4-( <-l 9 17 16 . 15 1 l 4-G-22 26 21 Oi> 22 4-0-31 . . : 34 | 32 30 l-G-l 1 b b 9 8 4-G-2I 18 17 16 [5 4-G-25 26 26 2 V 22 4-0-33 36 1 32 32 l-G-6 l-(i-7 l-ti-8 10 b b 11 10 10 ft 4-( i-22 18 17 16 16 M1-28 28 26 26 21 4-< i-37 ft l-G-25 lb 18 17 16 l-G-31 30 28 26 26 Mi-41 11 11 10 10 38 i 31 31 10 36 31 'Hue stir* (or Hi tmt rtumurv* rt* lor sih-i-uiI m-f.iUivium-. wltcn* etvwtvr hviaht v* thi(>OMMbl' or in>ir;uin;\hU-.
