Borcherding, Jr. Medical Department Chicago Dear Charlie: Thank you for your letter of February 27, stating that gas sampling time will be approximately 16 minutes per shoe. Ve would suggest that Instead of running 30 second stops, we run 20 minute drag tests (simulating grade braking) in which the sampling could be for the last 16 minutes of each drag. This would allow 4 minutes for the shoe and wheel to heat up and start snaking. Bob Ely is arranging for the X-ray defraction analysis which you suggested by done by Research at Mahwah. We have Just received the Cobra and Anchor shoes from San Francisco and now have the necessary shoes.
