Gopher Ordnance Works, P . 0 . Drawer 3 4 7 1 , St. Paul, Minnesota.
Dear Dr. Watsoni
I am sending you the analytical results on four of your men without waiting for the records and also without waiting for the completion of the analyses on the last man. My reason for doing it is that the results obtained are rather significant. I presume that the men on whom the samples were obtained were actually employed at their job at the time these samples were taken. The results on the blood are all high and more or less uniform. Those on the urine are somewhat more variable, but they are not out of line with the results obtained on the blood. I would judge t h a t ^ H H M B H H ^ has had somewhat less exposure than the others, although whether this was a matter of time or intensity of exposure cannot be determined from the data. In any case, it is quite clear that an exposure that can give rise to blood levels and urine levels of this order of magnitude is somewhat hazardous and that it may produce cases of frank lead intoxication.
Examination of the blood smears gave the following results:
1-17-43 4-17-43 4-16-43 4-16-43 4-16-43

I shall look over the records when they come and give you any further interpretation that might seem to be useful. I shall also send you the bill for the series of analyses when the others have been completed.
Very truly yours,
RAX ef Enc.
