Jane Liu is my administrative assistant in Shanghai. She is a very good resource for information and advice on "where, how, why, when and how much? However, she doesn't have sufficient time to make all of the arrangments. We would need additional help. My rule of thumb is in China time in takes 3X the amount of time required in the US to get anything done, and it is the same with personnel! We are asking for your help for two things. 1. The date for the 2005 meeting. We are proposing to meet either the last week of September or the first week in November. We are not considering the month of October because of religious holidays that could preclude some from attending. It's great to see all of you again as we share our progress and insights into this vital project. First of all, I'd like to thank Exxon Mobil for hosting our third annual meeting here on this beautiful campus. Personally, I'm trying to rein in the urge to go prowl the halls and admire the artwork, which is truly impressive. I know we all appreciate Exxon Mobil's generosity in making these faciliaites available to us. This year, we have expanded the agenda to include more time for discussion, including more Q&A's after each presentation. Also, at the end of the day, we'll gather all our presenters to participate in a mass grilling - I mean panel discussion. Afterward we're in for a real treat - dinner at the Peking Duck. Esquire Magazine described the restaurant's duck as "Edible moments of ecstasy... " Hmm! Sounds good to me. Right now though, let's get started ...
