The company has expressed their concern about the asbestosis exposure in the COBRA brakeshoe and have in dicated that they will not renew coverage unless we can convince them that exposure either does not exist or is very minimal. American Standard, Inc. has provided us with a copy of a test conducted by your Research and Engineering Center in Manville, New Jersey in 1971 and a copy of that re port is enclosed. We have sent a copy to the Underwriters and perhaps this will be sufficient to convince them to continue with the coverage. However, our review of the report indicates that the results of the asbestos fiber released in the breaking action is measured in weight. If the Travelers does not accept this report as suf ficient evidence of the exposure, we would like to be in a position to give them further information. To that end we ask you whether Johns-Manville Corporation has PLAINTIFF'S EXHIBIT |i uJl/M 5# PLAINTIFF'S EXHIBIT i IZOSZ.DO Marsh & McLennan Incorporated 1221 Avenue ol the Americas. New York.
