My feeling has been that it is best not to tamper with such matters at all* If you had no experimental information on which to go, you might have cause for disturbance over such things* However, since the Corporation has made it a point to carefully investigate matters which have to do with general health and since you have available information which reduces these items of experimental work almost to an absurdity, it does not seem to me to be. either wise or commensurate with the dignity of the Corporation to attempt in an y w a y to in fluence or to interfere with observations of this sort. Thus you have no reason to believe that if Dr. Pomeroy*s observations are made carefully, they will reveal anything of a damaging character* And If they are not made care fully, the results obtained will be of no consequence, and whatever effect they might have on a purely local use of Ethyl Gasoline would not be a drop in the bucket In the total business of the Corporation whose activities are based upon sound economic and hygienic foundations. I should suggest that the matter be allowed to go without any approach being made to this man or to any other who has a sincere interest in determining the facts.
