ASBESTOS WORKERS UNION LOCAL It has come to our attention during the past week that subject local has included a demand for a premium of 50< an hour for handling rock or glass wool, in their list of demands for the current contract negotiations. All the employers are standing together in their opinion that not only is the demand coroletely ridiculous but that such a situation is not a matter for local consideration but for national action if it is to be considered at all. The employers in the Albany area are: COMPANY PRODUCTS Johns-Manville - company owned Robert A. Keasbey Company Armstrong Cork - company owned Hudson Talley Asbestos Johns Manville Piberglas & Carey Aroaglas Mondet Part of the problem has arisen as a consequence of a hospital report on Roy Van Alstyne, the local's business agent, that he cannot work again, because he has "asbestos poinsoning".
