CENTRO remains committed to implementing strategic transportation plans and systems that connect communities, support regional economic vitality, and build a more equitable and sustainable future for the Central New York region. Federal support of these plans is critical to implementing clean transportation technology, enhanced transit access, and regional livability. With funding, the Bus Rapid Transit Project will create two high-frequency, highcapacity transit corridors linking major employment centers, universities, healthcare facilities, neighborhoods, and downtown Syracuse. The project will establish dedicated low-emissions buses and high-quality boarding stations at optimized locations to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the public transportation system for current and future riders. This will expand access to jobs, education, and essential services, support regional economic development, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and create a safer, more connected public realm for all users throughout the Syracuse region.
