FC-143 Objective: Determine the fate of FC-143 in the Teflon process.
Status : 90% of FC-143 is absorbed on or incorporated in Teflon. FC-143 is probably decomposed in sintering. Tightly bound FC-143 goes to the customer in I product. Air samples taken at SM-3 and I process show FC-143 to be < 50 ppb in operator breathing zone.
