Sundem a n : I am sending you herevith the report of the analytical results on the urine and blood of Caesare Pont!. From these results one would conclude that this man has had no recent significant lead exposure. You will remember the reservation tendered in my letter of Kerch 18 concerning the adequacy of the sample of urine. Under the circumstances I have some doubt as to the significance of this result. However, if it can be taken to be acceptable, one can only say that the results are now vithin normal limits. If you will refe to ou. analy ical results of February 19 on samples obtained on I ebruary 1, you will recognize that, there a difference, the difference might }be insignifiean. inci denta in the case of the urine the diiference between the present result s on the blood and those of an earlier date are significant . In fact the diminution is in keeping with vha t I might expec t if this man had had some slight lead exposure prie to the date of the first samples and none since that date. In other words I should interpret this as being the normal decree* In the rate of urinary lead excretidn, and mom.- particularly Lh normal drop in the blood lead concentration following the comp cessation of occupational lead exposure.
