WALKER Deoember 11, 1937 Mr. Tom Homan, o/o Ethyl Cooperation, Tulsa, Oklahoma* Dear Mr* Homan: X would like to bother you to the extent of obtaining about one dram of the tetra-ethyl lead as used in the various ethyl and anti-knook gasolines. My reason for asking for this is as follows: I would like to use it for skin tests on people that have contact dermatitis that work with ethyl gasoline. X have a oase in mind at the present time, a man from Nebraska, that has a low-grade contaot dermatitis that is definitely assooiated with his work, and we find that on patch testing him with the gasoline that contains the tetra-ethyl lead, it produces a blistering of the skin that is not produced with the other gasoline. I am unable to produce this same blister by using other lead preparations. If it is at all possible for you to send me a small amount of this material for testing, I would appreciate it greatly.
