The attached Physician Instructions for Examination of Workers Exposed to Asbestos is for your guidance in performing asbestos examinations. The question of signifi cant exposure is one that will need to be answered by our industrial hygienists.
The Instructions are designed primarily for Ethyl designated physicians who will need to send their reports to the Corporate Medical Office. This does not apply in your case as the medical files will be kept in your office. However, because of the legal implications, the Corporate Medical Office should be informed of any suspected or con firmed cases of asbestosis.
Thank you for your usual cooperation. If you have any questions concerning these examinations, please let me hear from you.
