This carry over coupled with high maintenance costs and poor yield has increased the loss above previous months. During the past three weeks the mill rate has been affected by the abnormal amount of fines delivered to the bin. This has reduced the tons picked and has- increas ed the percentage of rock delivered to the mill. There appea to be a very definite percentage of rock in relation to fibre which the mill will handle and if this percentage is increased'the output falls rapidly together with the yield. Most of the increased fines.appear to come from the"wineing" of the drives which are mined under the fibre. Efforts ar.e being made to overcome this problem and we shall cover it more fully later. It will be noted that labour expenses are lower but this is due to no Compensation Premium being paid. It iias been paid for the six months and previously shown in returns. W would point out that during the past six months the heading "Other Freights" covers cost of all Inward Frei ghts.
