Kristin, Tim, and Chris:
Attached and immediately below are comments on BLM's submission last week ("BLM E.O. 13783 Energy Report"). Exec Sec's comments are summed up well by the following comment from Rich Cardinale:
Therefore, please review the parts of the attached document and recast
In addition to the overarching comment from Rich Cardinale, Jill Moran has made specific comments/edits in the attached document. Her comments are intended to serve as a guide of sorts as you rework the sections under your purview. BUT please do not go back and simply respond to Jill's comments. The point of the revision is to change the posture of this document, so you need to re-read your sections and make changes wherever necessary.
For reference, I've attached a copy of the Associate Deputy Secretary's June 28, 2017, memo.
ASLM has asked for a revised version of our report by COB today. I know how busy each of you are: while I would like to receive your revision by the end of the day. I'll understand if it has to be tomorrow. Just let me know.

Peter,
As a follow-up to our conversation yesterday, I added some comments to the BLM's report on EO 13783 based on my understanding of what Exec Sec would like to see. My notes are not comprehensive but will hopefully give you an idea. In general, I think they are looking for more focus on what the BLM is doing
to reduce the potential burden and how these actions support what the Secretary is trying to achieve.
Exec Sec is really anxious to get this back from BLM - they still have work to do with it prior to sending it to the White House. Can we get it by COB today?
Thanks, Jill

Okay.
Looked it over - goal is to get it back to you tomorrow morning - which I am being generous to myself in interpreting. The changes look fairly extensive, in terms of language documenting benefits while preserving protections, etc.
My family is joining me this late afternoon here, so I was going to meet them at the airport. I will be sure to get in very early (assuming the doors open with my credentials) and will do my level best.

Jim,
I just want to clarify that WO-300 is only responsible for responding to comments on the report starting at Section C. Coal Related through the section on Policy, Oil and Gas: IM 2016-140, "Implementation of Greater Sage-grouse Resource Management Plan Revisions or Amendments - Oil & Gas Leasing and Development Sequential Prioritization" I have highlighted those sections in blue in the attached document.

Peter,
As a follow-up to our conversation yesterday, I added some comments to the BLM's report on EO 13783 based on my understanding of what Exec Sec would like to see. My notes are not comprehensive but will hopefully give you an idea. In general, I think they are looking for more focus on what the BLM is doing to reduce the potential burden and how these actions support what the Secretary is trying to achieve.
Exec Sec is really anxious to get this back from BLM - they still have work to do with it prior to sending it to the White House. Can we get it by COB today?
Thanks, Jill

Shelley, apparently we will be needing to update that spreadsheet too, but Peter wanted to focus on this exercise first.

Kristin, Tim, and Chris:
Attached and immediately below are comments on BLM's submission last week ("BLM E.O. 13783 Energy Report"). Exec Sec's comments are summed up well by the following comment from Rich Cardinale:
Therefore, please review the parts of the attached
In addition to the overarching comment from Rich Cardinale, Jill Moran has made specific comments/edits in the attached document. Her comments are intended to serve as a guide of sorts as you rework the sections under your purview. BUT please do not go back and simply respond to Jill's comments. The point of the revision is to change the posture of this document, so you need to re-read your sections and make changes wherever necessary.
For reference, I've attached a copy of the Associate Deputy Secretary's June 28, 2017, memo.
