Both Griffith and Stevens believe that the Pesticide and Technical Committees should push further, research in the areas covered by our second report and if the matter does not bog down in the API Committee, you will probably be hearing further from them. X can assure you that your testimony and your report and the Recommendations in the latter will be carefully considered by each of our respective companies, and we are very glad to have such informa tion and Recommendations for the basis of possible research work to be done in the future by the petroleum industry in regard to the possible toxicity of our products in association with foodstuffs0 We appreciate your making yourself available for discussion of your Confidential Report. I see no immediate necessity for such a discussion but if such a de sire materializes in the future on the part of the petroleum companies, we shall certainly be happy to get in touch with you. We also appreciate your making yourself available for further consultation with Mr. John D. Conner in the preparation of his legal brief on petroleum oils at the Spray Residue Tolerance Hearings before the Food and Drug Administration.
