Zimmermann, Texas City There are two major developments to report this week concerning the Ethylene Forecast. Monsanto has agreed to purchase 25 million pounds of ethylene from Gulf in 1965. Gulf will predeliver 5 million pounds of this order in November and another 5 million pounds in December, 1964. The remainder of the order has been shown_at 5 million pounds a month January through March, 1965. This purchase has made it economically attractive to reinstate the Dow ethylene-to-VCM conversion agreement for 3 million pounds of VCM (equivalent to 4.5 MM-lbs ethylene) during the period October 1 through December 31, 1964. Another change from the forecast issued September 25, 1964 is the rescheduling of the Gulf delivery to Xoppers. This is now scheduled for November, 1964, rather than October. GCM:ljl Attachment G. C.
