H. K. Ball J. S. Maynard Lead Hazard Tank Mew York Chicago Sept. 26, 1957 Dear. Hank: We believe you will be interested in the attached letter of September 12, from Dolly Dollahan which requests a decision on a rather unusual situation. 100 pax*ts of lead per billion is certainly a small amount, but this is only a single determination, and it is quite possible that the percentage will vary in the future. From the letter we have no way of knowing the throughput in this particular tank or what period of time will elapse before the tank is cleaned. Pending a reply from you or our medical department, we are advising Dolly by copy of this letter that should it be necessary to clean this tank in the near future, it should be considered as a leaded tank, and our precautions followed fully in the cleaning operations. We will be interested in your reply. JSM:mem Enc. cc, L. A. W. F. Dollahan Purcell RE 00097
