They were unshakeable on their position that late August or early September was the earliest they could see me. Dr. Geshonke did offer the following as being their most up-to-date technology for latex stripping: 1. Heat the batch to 65C (140F) in the reactor before dumping. 2. Maintain 65C circulating water in stripper jacket while recovering. 3. After recovery inject steam below a deflector plate which is above the liquid level - see sketch - while continuing to recover at a good vacuum. 4. After two hours of _3 above, the latex is less than 1000 ppm. 5. They do not use a nitrogen sparge and have not experimented with injecting steam into the latex. JWP/ib Attachment ^ J. W.
