3 Investigation of over 20 different types of
4 dusts has indicated that if no reaction occurs in
j
5 organs other than the lungs, it will not occur in the
1
6 respiratory tract and that conversely dusts like
7 silica and asbestos that are known to produce fibrosis
8 of the lungs also cause fibrosis in other tissues when
9 injected in sufficient quantities.
10 Neither plain or oiled glass wools have
11 caused fibrosis or any chronic progressive reaction by
12 injection and, therefore, it is a reasonable
13 assumption that their inhalation would likewise fail 14 to produce such effects.
