FROM: H a r r y E. R o u rk e - Toledo Federal Construction Guide Specifications for Acoustical Plaster
Dear Bob: According to the proposed specification, it appears that unless we are suc cessful in eliminating the asbestos fibers, Kilnoise will not be acceptable to the General Services Administration. In reply to Mr. Christopher's request, I would suggest that we just outlin* the test that we have completed to date with regard to sound absorption, 'ight reflection, etcetera, and do not refer to any further testing, as covered tn t h e i r r e q u e s t . I would s u g g e s t that we m a k e note to th e m that the N<>. a te s t a r e a f o r a p p ro v a l and s a m p l e s t h e m s e l v e s a r e the re s p o n s i b il i ty -> 'he c o n t r a c t o r and not of the m a t e r i a l m a n u f a c t u r e r . A lso, that the mi\i* g ,<polications should be written in such a way that they comply with the manu factu rer's recommendation as to water, mixing time, etcetera, because, ayou well know, this will vary as to the manufacturer.
