OBSERVATIONS Things are moving slowly but surely towards the introduction of RG-244. Charlie gave us a purchase order for two pallets (enough to run a trial with 100,000 pounds of resin). Our main function here is to bring Howard and Charlie together. Once this is done, Charlie does all the selling for us. Howard has promised to call us when they are ready and we will run a fiber count on this full-scale production run. Charlie is a little upset with us. He claims that "we" wrote a letter to a Dr. Singleton of H. H. Robertson (Freeman`s parent) which pointed out that our asbestos was hazardous to use. Singleton sent the letter to Charlie and he promptly threw it away so that no one would see it. The way I see it, one of two things happened: 1. Singleton and Ross misinterpreted the letter. 2. It was not written by anyone in our organization. Incidentally, it could have been sent to the Mellon Institute rather than Robertson. If anyone knows of a letter like this, please let me know so we can combat it. Charlie also' commented that "our competition" has been saying that when polyester-containing RG-244 is abraded, asbestos fibers are released into the air.
