The following is the agenda for the Plant Manager's Safety Board meeting to be held at 2:30 pm on December 12, in the Cafeteria Conference Room.
In line with the instructions at the November meeting, the December agenda items will be limited to only those of the most pressing nature, and comments are made on other items still being held on the agenda. No discussion will be held on these.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Policy on Eye Protection for Construction Personnel
Mr. Ludlam is working with the Safety Department and Construction Companies to setup the compulsory eye protection program. This will be in force January 3.

The new Procedure Bulletin P-0124, Fire Protection Equipment, has been reviewed by the superintendents and revisions to format and wording are being studied.
Procedure Bulletin P-0125, Procurement and Handling of Radio nuclides and X-Ray Producing Equipment, is being drafted, and will be sent to the superintendents for review.

Procedure Bulletin P-0401, Intraplant Container Labeling
and Brum Handling, has been commented upon by the superintendents, and these comments are being studied by the Plant Engineer. The revised bulletin will be ready for the January Board meeting.
3. Sparking Hazards on Aluminum Painting
Nr. Browning has requested the cooperation of Purchasing In obtaining parts, valves, etc., without an unprimed aluminum coating.
4. Sample Container Transportation
This Item will be on the January meeting agenda at which time a review of procedure by areas will be requested. The Safety Department la making a survey to determine what type of transportation container the units need, and to see if a more practical container can be obtained.
5. Rain Gear
The Safety Department Is planning to switch back to the old U. S. Rubber rain gear temporarily. However, It should be noted that the present rain equipment is a better quality garment, stronger, lighter and more flexible.

1. The Hourly Safety Committee
Mr. Gilmore will have the names of the newly elected Hourly Safety Committee.
2. Special Safety Committee
Messrs. Keating, Romerll, Fox, and Gilmore have met several times to discuss methods of overcoming the safety lull period which normally occurs during the first several months of the year. This committee will have a report for the Board. The Committee feels that this report should be on the agenda, since time is important in getting the work underway.
3. Texas City Safety Program - J. M. Chamberlin
NOTICE:
The Galveston County Anti-Tuberculosis Association's Mobil X Ray Unit will be in the plant on December 1415-16, from 7?30 A.M. to 5*00 P.M. Please alert your people to take advantage of this service, and whenever
possible^ allow the men time off from work to get their X rays. This is both a preventive medical and cost saving service for the conpany.
