Johnson Date June 8, 1972 Subject 1972 CAPITAL EXPENDITURES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION Attached is a summary of proposed 1972 Capital Expenditures in CONOCO Chemicals for environmental conservation. During the last Environmental Advisory Committee meeting, it was agreed that we should also be monitoring actual expenditures versus budgeted expenditures and the operating cost of installed facilities. Obtaining actual capital expenditures presents no problem. However, I am not sure that all operating budgets have separate environmental cost centers. Please make arrangements to have estimates of the 1972 operating expenses after the close of the year if actual expenditures are not available. You might also investigate the feasibility of having an environmental cost center in your future plant operating budgets if this is not your current practice. ft. R. A.
