The participants met on 15 December 2022 at 15.00 CET on Microsoft Teams. A.I.S.E. would like to ensure that the transitional periods for the labelling of fragrance allergens under the ongoing amendment of the Cosmetic Products Regulation ('CPR') will also be applicable to detergents. This is because the Detergents Regulation refers to the labelling provisions of the CPR for the labelling of fragrance allergens in detergents. The Commission services will look into this closely and examine whether a clarification is necessary. The Commission services also explained that the link to the CPR as regards the labelling of fragrance allergens in detergents is likely to be maintained in the Commission's proposal for a revised Detergents Regulation. Furthermore, A.I.S.E. asked some questions about the alignment of the Detergents Regulation with the New Legislative Framework ('NLF') and expressed some concerns regarding the introduction of harmonised standards for detergents under the ongoing revision of the Detergents Regulation. The Commission services clarified that bringing the Regulation under the NLF doesn't necessarily imply the introduction of harmonised standards or the involvement of a notified body. The Commission services further explained that the current version of the proposal considers a first party conformity assessment procedure i.e. without the involvement of notified bodies. Lastly, A.I.S.E. underlined that they would be in favour of further digitalisation or increase of digital elements. The Commission services replied that the intention is to increase the amount of information in the digital label in the future. However, this will be based on the level of digital readiness of the EU population, which is also expected to increase in the near future.
