- Remaining abatement is a steam line estimated at $70,000 and the pots in Line 5 at $60,000, and Lines 1 through 4 at $51,000 each. Plans are to remove asbestos from pots in the 60-day period between notice to proceed and potline start-up.
Hurricane, cr&gjs_Aluminfl
- Survey performed by Northwest Envirocon, Inc.
Note: Surveys were also completed at Jones Mill Reduction, Patterson Reduction, Malvern Cable, Hot Spring Continuous Rolling, Pine Bluff Recycling, Little Rock Recycling, Little Rock Service Center, and Batesville Limestone Mine.
- Abatement monitoring and project management are both being conducted by Northwest Envirocon, Inc.
- Approximately 50% of the estimated $10,000,000 abatement costs have been completed, with the remaining $5,000,000 divided equally in 1993 and 1994.
Sherwin Alumina
- A complete survey has not been performed, but an on-going abatement program is underway.
- Abatement monitoring is being conducted by Northwest Envirocon, Inc.
Without benefit of a plant survey, the rough estimate for completing abatement is $2,000,000 in the next five to 10 years. Based on the costs at Hurricane Creek, with Hurricane Creek being down and Sherwin operating, the estimate is probably-quite a bit low.
