We have a line of USG dry powders that has been sucessfully formulated and in one case is actively sold. The only stumbling block for the elimination of all asbestos in the whole Midway operation is in the Ready Mix product line. There is a proposal for dust collection in the dry additive weighout area at the Midway plant for $44,187. Dust test on asbestos fibers indicate that we are in a problem area - and too be sure the installation is inflated by the boondoggling of the city of Chicago code but this is essentially unproductive money at a time when money is scarce. How far are we from the elimination of Asbestos - can I have your support that an expenditure of this magnitude is a necessary one.
