Jago made a statement relative to the hazards from asbestos and silica both internally and in our customers operations. He advised Chat a "caution" statement would have to be applied to FROFLEX'1' immediately and possibly to PROFAX in the not tcodistant future. W. C. Flecchcr stated that Ferro Engineering was already applying labels to its products. All the members of the committee agreed that the importance of programs designed to eliminate asbestos and silica could noc be over emphasized and agreed that maximum cooperation was essencial if we were to be certain wc could remain in business. It was agreed that the asbestos problem, would take the first priority. R. Dzurilla explained what direction the development work had taken and enumerated the various alternatives that had been tried for asbestos. He also explained the manufacturing difficulties resulting from removal of asbestos. Tnese included peer forming, settling and/or dewatering problems. It was explained that high solid contents in slurries and high form pressures aggravated the manufacturing difficulties. After much discussion, it was resolved that little progress could be made until a production machine could be allocated for extended trials. R. 3. Orndorff agreed to talk to K. Findley and J.
