2 I accepted a position as a research paint
3 chemist at a small company in Pittsburgh called the
4 Pruett-Schaffer Chemical Company. We developed a
5 variety of paint formulations for industrial uses.
6 Q Okay. And how long did you stay in that
7 job?
8 A Just a little less than one year, and I was
9 drafted into the Armed Forces, the Army actually.
10 Q Okay. When you went into the Army, what was
11 your job?
12 A To get through basic training first.
13 (Whereupon, laughter ensued.)
14 A I went to Fort Knox and went through basic
15 training and after that there were a group of us
16 assigned to the Edgewood Arsenal Army Chemical Center
17 just up the road here near Aberdeen in Edgewood,
18 Maryland.
19 I was there for the duration of my time and
20 served in the biological sciences portion of the
21 chemical warfare laboratories, and in that position,
