MARKET ANALYSIS
. We are starting to hear sane concerns front some of tiie major lease companies relative to the OEM push at fleets on single source pur chasing. The lease companies are concerned specifically at this time with White and International Harvester, indicating that what they are offering is merely a system that provides guaranteed coat of opera tion and residual protection for fleet customers, which is basically what die major lease companies do.
. The fleets who have faced hard times and lave gone with an employee stock option purchase program may be in a posiLion to bring consider able pressure on the Roadways, Yellows and Consolidated Freightways of our industry, due to die very favorable compensation packages they have been abl.e Co negotiate. This is sure to force even more pres sure on union-operated companies, making die settling down of the in dustry yet a wliiLe off.
. Mon-a8be3toe linLng is gaining specification consideration at more and more fleets; and we have noted that a prominent after market sup plier, Raybestos Manhattan, seans to be doing the best job in the field, causing a great number of fleets to attempt n pull-through of whac was once considered an after market lining.
. We continue to hear increased concerns and certainly a great deal of conversation concerning the potential for tougher braking laws in the industry. Much of tills discussion involves the pushing of European type brakes and concern that before our industry acts, we will be legislated Lnto a position that might be less than favorable to the trucking industry.
. We continue to get reports that would Indicate a decline in the 1986 . Class 8 truck sales. Following are a few examples.

MARKET ANAISSIS (cant'd.)
f:T*N
Most of the above fleets have purchased heavily in the last ttfo years and have a total operation that is less than three years old. Most sean lo feel that their purchasing volumes will pick up again in 1907.
We have mentioned in previous reports that the Lease companies are predicting Less growth in 1986 chan they have for the last couple to three years. This indication still holds true, with sane predicting no growth in 1986.

. The Rockwell warranty package has been announced. At this poLnt in Lime, at least as far as national accounts is concerned, we see no change; 500,000-600,000 miles, parts and labor; in many instances with swings, 1 for each 20, including brake, automatic slack and rear axles, etc.
. Some of our OEM? are starting to feel pressure from Mercedes with their Class 7 OOE tractor, the LPS-1525. The Mercedes Benz 36 month, 100,000 mile warranty on the power train, with 18 months unlimited mileage on the basic vehicle, where they cover 1007. parts and labor is creating concern, at least at International Harvester.
. Dana continue? to be extremely aggressive in the medium ,duty, market with their drivetrain package,
