Both Brad and myself have reviewed your recommendations and we are updating the following procedures. t 97-5-1 Our Maintenance employees have always used respirators when they are working in a dusty environment. Brad and I have re-affirmed this policy with them. I talked with Ms. Lori Yeager and she is gathering samples of crude coal for additional tests to determine the level of silica concentration in our coal. If in fact our coal has greater than 5% silica we will advise our Coal Grinding Operator that he is required to wear a respirator during .the grinding operation 97-5-2. Effective June 30, 1997, we have informed our shipping/loading employees that they are required to wear Hearing protection while working at the Load Out station. I will change our Procedure CHIC-PROC-31120 to reflect that Jim Stay and Fritz Hupfauer are included in the Hearing Conservation Program. \ t Again, thank you for your time and help.
