Plant Records Process Holders (2) Final disposition of Tentativeymendment "J" (dated 8/26/70) to the Standard Manufacturing Process for Aroclors, Department 246, dated October, 1966. The purpose of this amendment was to demonstrate a modified aeration procedure which would reduce PCB water pollution. The necessary equipment consisting primarily of a Brink mist eliminator with a condensate tank and piping has been installed and operating since October 19. Water samples from the scxubber and mist samples from the mist eliminator effluent have shown the pollution level at the drowing jet have been reduced better than expected. The mist samples showed no mist after the mist eliminator. The scrubber water samples show about 0.54/day PCB pollution compared to a previous level of up to 300#/day. Details can be found in W.G.K. T.S.D. Report No. 4 on Job 91370:4119 dated 12/15/70. Condensate caught by the mist eliminator is being used in a manner similar to off gas condensate which is reworked to produce saleable Aroclors.
