Brandy It is desired to confirm action taken by the writer during nis recent visit to Perth in connection with tne above employee. Brandy was told on approximately 23rd February, 1948, to secure another position within one month. In view of his age etc. it was considered better to allow Brandy to resign rather than discharge him. The reason for the action was that Brandy is not the type of staff this Company requires, particularly for outside liaison work. his metnods vere towards the ;,under the counter" style rather than those of a proper business footing. A number of actions of his in connection with tne placing of orders were almost unsavoury, particularly when orders haa been given to his friends and taken off this company's normal and satisfactory suppliers, his ethics do not conform to the standard set by the C.i.R. and adopted by tnis Company. A letter from the Perth Engineer states that Brandy is going on holidays from 15th March and resuming on 1st April, It is presumed that this is an error. The matter of Brandy's departure was fully discussed with Messrs. <1.0. Brown, Broadhurst, Tucker and '.Vest, and the matter of his cessation of employment is considered as final.
