Just to give you some background on us: In our short history, we've published this story and this story and this story, and we won a National Magazine Award a few months ago for this one. I'm writing because we are in the process of putting together a discussion between people who have made the decision to leave the Trump administration. I imagine the calculus was enormously difficult for someone as dedicated to public service as you are, and the idea of convening a couple other people who made the same choice so that you can walk through your individual thought processes and discuss what you were grappling with in the moment and how you are feeling now would be of great civic interest. In terms of format, it would be similar to this interview we conducted last year between three GOP campaign gurus who lost to Trump. I liked that it was an open, very human conversation where the participants felt comfortable enough to mix stories from the trail with some really intelligent analysis. One difference, though, is that this one will be moderated by Lydia Polgreen, the editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post, who recently came over from The New York Times. I know she's my boss, but she's truly one of the most thoughtful journalists out there, and she will handle this project with exactitude and care. Anyway, I appreciate your considering this, and if you have any questions, please feel free to call or email any time. Also, please tell me what dates might work for you, as we'd like everyone to be in the same room for this, most likely in Washington DC.
