In th e Braim P la n t 100 Octane was b ein g f i l l e d , in sp ected , stacked and loaded in to barge. Conditions during th e v i s i t were g e n e ra lly b e tte r than average and no leak in g t i n s were v is ib le a t th e barge f i l l i n g where th e atm osphere was good. The t i n f a c to r y was in s p e c te d
and D r. Kehoe co n sid e re d th e v e n t ila tio n o f th e fumes from th e so ld er b ath s to be t o t a l l y inadequate and recommended th a t th e whole system should be enclosed
in an oven provided w ith a pow erful exhaust fan . -

S p irit a t th e tim e o f v is itin g but th e splashing and s p illa g e were norm al and s im ila r to co n d itio n s p re v a ilin g

a s h o rt d is c u s s io n was h e ld on le a d b len d in g p r a c tic e a t w hich Mr. G regor was p r e s e n t. A v i s i t was th en p a id in company w ith Mr. E rre y t o th e Lead B lending P la n t, Bawarda where lead in g o f th e a v ia tio n s p i r i t was in p ro g re s s . D r. Kehoe in sp e c te d th e o p e ra tio n and equipment a t th e A viation Blending P la n t a l l o f which was sta n d a rd except th e le a th e r g lo v es which were being used as su b stitu te fo r rubber gloves. Stacks of empty and T .E .L . drum s, and th e la rg e outdoor drums o f T .B .L . w ere exam ined. D r. Kehoe was a s s u re d by Mr. E rre y th a t th e s e drums were b ein g consumed in s t r i c t r o ta tio n depending on th e tim e each drum had been on s i t e .

t o re d u c e th e number o f b le n d s p e r man to th e f ig u r e recommended by th e a .E .C . o f 6 p e r month and p o in te d out
th a t i f a re lia b le estim ation of lead in the urine of any lead blender gave lead co n ten ts in excess o f .1 K ilo gram p er l i t r e , t h i s m ust be accep ted as a d e f in ite i n d i c a t i o n o f le a d a b s o r p tio n and t h e r e f o r e a s an i 1*3-*"'.
