Excessive or prolonged exposure to VCM may cause cancer. Vinyl Chloride is a highly flammable gas and can easily ignite at most normal atmospheric conditions. The handling, use and exposure to vinyl chloride in the workplace is strictly regulated by OSHA. Refer to 29 CFR, Part 1910.1017 for specific requirements.
