TAXES Should any new Government Taxes be imposed, they will be added to the customer's invoice. INVOICES Invoices are payable in Canadian Funds, or, at Buyer's option, in U.S. dollar equivalent. All in voices will show U.S. dollar equivalent which will be based on rate of exchange in effect on date of ship ment. Exchange rates are determined on the 1st and 15th days of each month. Upon request, carload shipments of pressure packed paper bags can be palletized and unitized on expend able paper pallets. SHIPPING INFORMATION CARLOAD DEFINITIONS Minimum carloads to (Official Territory) points east of the Mississippi and north of the Ohio and Potomac Rivers are 20, 40 and 50 tons for Fibre, 30, 40 and 50 tons for Waste and Shorts. The lowest rate applies on 50 ton shipments. To the (Transcontinental Territory) Arizona, Calif ornia, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Washington minimum carloads are 40 and 50 tons for Fibre and Waste, 40, 50 and 60 tons for Shorts. The 60 ton rate applies to 40 foot cars only, therefore the contents must be pressure packed. To all other territories, generally the minimum weight of Fibre, Waste and Shorts are 40 and 50 tons. ENTREE FEE On all shipments originating in Canada consigned to points in U.S.A. there is an entry fee for preparation of custom papers of $4. 00 per car that must be paid by buyer and is collected at destination. FREIGHT PREPAID SURCHARGES On freight prepaid shipments a surcharge must be collected in Canadian funds at point of shipment to compensate Canadian carriers for difference in U.S. and Canadian funds when the Canadian dollar is at a discount in relation to the U.S. dollar. This surcharge will be based on a percentage of the rate of exchange prevailing at time of shipment in accordance with the formula set forth in Item 90 of Canadian Freight Association Tariff No. 16 G. PRODUCT INFORMATION DESCRIPTION Carey-Canadian Asbestos is of the Canadian Chrysotile variety. Mineralogically it is hydrated magnesium silicate (3 Mg 0 2 Si Oj 2H2 0). The hardness is from 3 to 3.5 Moh's scale and the specific gravity is 2.2 to 2.3. CLASSES Asbestos is divided into two general classes -- Crude and Milled. Crude Asbestos consists of the hard select ed cross-vein material essentially in its nature form or unfiberized form. Milled Asbestos consists of all grades produced by mechanical treatment of asbestos ore. Grades of Canadian milled asbestos are based on the Quebec Standard Testing Machine. TESTS Test results are determined by the Quebec Standard Testing Machine. This machine separates a one pound sample of Asbestos Fibre on 4, 10 mesh screens and pan. The test results are measured by the weight in ounces of fibre retained on the screen and in the pan in the order listed. Classification of Milled Asbestos is based on the Quebec Standard Testing Machine. Shipping Test is the average for each carload or smal ler shipment, of tests of representative samples taken at time of shipment.
