(IBT) complete, among other things, inventories to include the following: A. All wet tissues to include specific identification of all tissues present. B. All tissues in blocks with specific identification of each tissue therein. C. All histologic slides with a complete identification and listing of each tissue for each animal. D. All data from A, B, and C above were to be summarized on appropriate histopathology sheets. E. Data summary sheets similar to those developed by the ATG (i.e., 50 animals per sheet/38 organs per animal) were to be prepared. Dr. Busey and members of his staff at Experimental Pathology Laboratories, Inc. (EPL) have analyzed data evolving from the three-phased inventories conducted by IBT. The results of EPL's analyses are summarized in the attached report from Dr. Busey. His report is based in part on EPL's studies of the tissue counts performed by IBT based on IBT's examination of all wet tissues, paraffin blocks, and microscopic slides. The current primary mission of Dr. Busey's report is to form, within the time frame allowed, the broadest possible data summaries, which, after due study by members of the ATG, should enable the preparation of recommendations pertinent to possible future course(s) of action on the IBT/vinyl chloride research program. Dr. Busey's report also is to serve as supportive data incident to the preparation of a report covering the work of the ATG to date. The Chairman of the ATG, Dr. Zeb G. Bell, Jr., has called a meeting on Wednesday, September 6, 1978, 9 a.m.. Room 407, MCA Offices. The meeting agenda is as follows: 1.0 Review of the Report Submitted by Dr. William M. Busey, EPL 1.1 Clarification by Dr. Busey of Possible Questions Concerning His Histopathologic Findings and Data Summaries 1.2 Acceptance or Rejection of Dr. Busey's Report 2.0 Preparation of Recommended Future Course(s) of Action on the IBT/Vinyl Chloride Research Program 2.1 Recommended Priority(ies) for Action Plan(s) CMft 016075 3.0 Development of Plans for the Preparation of a Reporjt Covering the Work of the Vinyl Chloride ATG to Date Sincerely, JTS rep Attachment J.
