Health Standards, protective clothing, in the form of coveralls, will be issued to Insula tors who may be exposed to airborne concentrations of asbestos fibers which could exceed the prescribed ceiling level. This condition could be most prevalent during removal of old in sulations containing asbestos. Rather than attempting to monitor each incident,'the coveralls will be supplied for this type job. Any other Insulation work involving asbestos will be dealt with on an individual basis. ' - These coveralls should be bought out of stores on the plantwide coverall charge. A clean pair should be used each day and contaminated ones should never be kept in lockers, tool boxes, etc. They should be returned to stores for laundering in a sealed plastic bag, tagged to in dicate they are contaminated with asbestos. Leverton Subject: Asbestos Strip Job Monitoring Mr. Jim Rapp has requested that we monitor strip jobs to determine whether or not exposures exceed the current limit. The nature of these requests usually will be short-term lead time emergency type. It will be necessary to maintian monitoring equipment in a state of readiness to respond to these requests. Mr. C. W. Perry will be primarily responsible. Mr. R. L. Horn should be trained as backup to do this monitoring and counting. Should no one be available to respond at the time of the request, we will have to delay it to a later request in view of the workload and shortage of personnel.
