Scales Ethyl Corporation Research laboratories 1600 West Eight Mile Road Ferndale 20 Detroit, Michigan Dear Dick: I ass sending to you herewith, for your group in Detroit, a brief report (6 copies) of our summarized observations on the lead alkyls, as made by Willard Machle at my request, years ago. There are many items of data that could have been assembled in a more elaborate manner, but the report as it is represents the best information we can abstract from these data, and I believe it to be satisfactory for present purposes. Obviously, if we are to go ahead in this development, there is much more to be done. I am sending several copies of this report to George Kirby, but I have made no further distribution within Ethyl Corporation, As I promised to do, I have sent four copies to Mr. Sabina, and four more to Mr. Cooley. Additional copies are available if they are required. I shall hold them for further requests or instructions from you or Mr. Kirby. To return a moment to the data, we have quite a volume of analytical results on the tissues of the animals used in Dr. Machle*s experiments. Z did not consider that these needed to be assembled and Included in this report. I believe they will be useful later, primarily as a basis for further observations. Perhaps copies of the report should go to the Socony Mobile group. I have heard nothing from or about them recently and therefore X shall wait for further word from your group before sending copies of the report or taking any other steps. Z am sending to you also, for information, and such use as it may be to you, a summary of the analytical observations made on the employees of Yellow Cab in San Francisco.
