prirr to an OSSA inspection et oar other joint eseent plants. Tan
received a copy of this letter to Mr. Ranch.
I hi m just received a copy of an OSSA inspection conducted at our Chicago pint where we have received onerous citations alooet Identical to those we received et Akron one year ago, where we apparently did not take corrective action that is required ender the lev. I cat enderatend where we eight have e difference of opinion with the inspector concerning the measurement of the concentration of asbestos fibers, hot it is eost difficult to understood why ws did not toko the nscessary action to provide signs, establish a respirator program and a protective clothing program vhleh are mandatory under the regulations.
I would ask that we once again review our situation at each of the Joint system plants to make certain that we are coog>lying with the requirements under the OSSA act concerning the handling of asbestos fibers. I would also like assurance froei each of the plants that they understand these requirements and that me have the necessary program and procedures instituted so that we will not have another occurrence
of citations fron m OSHA inspection at a joint syatan operation.

I have just received a copy of an OSSA inspection conducted at oar Chicago plane where we have received numerous citations almost identical to those ve received at Akron one year ago, where we apparently did not take corrective action that is required under the law. I can understand where we might have a difference of opinion with the inspector concerning the measurement of the concentration of asbestos fibers, but it is most difficult to understand why ve did not take the necessary action to provide signs, establish s respirator program and a protective clothing program which are mandatory under the regulations.
I would ask that we once again review our situation at each of the joint system plants to make certain that ve are complying with the requirements under the OSEA act concerning the handling of asbestos fibers.
