December 29* 19j6 Dr# Graham Edgar Ethyl Gasoline Corporation Chrysler Building Im York City lew York Dear Graham* A short time ago I received a copy of a letter addressed to Mr* Webb from Bay Sevan citing the Information provided by the lew York office of Standard Vacuum as a s ours of considerable difficulty in the Far East* X have just received a letter from Tegner, a copy of which was sent to you* with a number of enclosures on this subject* I have known for some time that- the, mixing installations in China were not satisfactory* fhey arc probably better than they were when they were first built since there has been quite a bit of correspondence back and forth about them* but it is obvious that the people who have been in charge in Hew-;i*ofk have either never understood the problem* or have been very little interested in it as a consequence of which the methods of engaging in the business' in that part of the earth have been slipshod to say the least* X hop fegnsr will be able to gat these matters straightened out but X believe It will be necessary for us to give him some support in the matter by trying to straighten!out their hew York office* X' am'expectlhg to come last.-the seek of the llth*and X wonder if It would not be advisable for us to get in*touch with the people who ar involved in this matter and discuss with them the entire situation so as to obtain their assistance in clarifying this whoje problem* Xf you will find out whether or not this is possible and let me know whether or not the week of the 11th will be satisfactory for the purpose, I can probably make it a point to be there since there are a number of other matters that require my attention.; , Very truly yours.
