Lynam, Ph.D. SUBJECT: One-Day Seminar on Requirements of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) There will be a one-day meeting on Thursday, July 31, 1980, for members of LIA and Zl-Cadmium Council to discuss the provisions and means of complying with recently issued regulations for the management of hazardous waste under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. The meeting will be held in Washington, D.C. at the University Club located at 1135 16th Street N.W., at 10 a.m. EPA recently issued regulations (May 19, 1980, Federal Register, Book 2 and February 26, 1980, Federal Register) for the management of hazardous waste. Companies which handle hazardous waste must notify EPA that they are doing so by August 18. The seminar will include discussion of requirements under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, means of complying with those requirements, and scheduled dates for complying with the various requirements. The LIA Environmental Health staff and Mr. Edward Seeger of the law firm of Prather, Seeger, Doolittle and Farmer will participate in the planned seminar. In addition, EPA has been requested to provide representatives for the seminar. Please register with Ms. Ingrid Olson at the address listed above if you plan to attend this seminar.
