Dear Administrator Pruitt,
Congratulations on your appointment by President Trump to lead the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Texas Association of Builders has enjoyed a good working relationship with EPA Region 6, including collaboration on a comprehensive, statewide storm water training and compliance program a few years ago.
1 am writing to invite you to serve as a keynote speaker at the Texas Association of Builders'
Sunbelt Builders ShowTM at 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on either Wednesday, August 2, 2017 or
Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Your audience will
consist of home builders, remodelers, land developers, architects, and industry allied
professionals who provide products and services to the residential construction industry. 'The
two-day Show is attended by approximately 2,500 industry professionals.
.
The Sunbelt Builders ShowTM, now in its 17th year, is owned and operated by the Texas Association of Builders (TAB), Founded in 1946, TAB is an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders and has 28 local home builders associations and nearly 10,000 members across Texas. Representing over 509,000 jobs and more than $38 billion annually in the Texas economy, the state and local associations play a crucial role in providing housing for Texans.
As you know, EPA regulations that affect the home building industry include clean water rules,
oversight of toxic substances such as lead in paint, asbestos, mold and pesticides, to name a very
few. Your audience will be very interested in hearing from you about the current
administration's proposed and newly implemented EPA regulations that affect the home building
and land development industry. As the trade association that represents this industry in the State
of Texas, we strive to equip not only our members, but the entire home building community,
with the best and most up-to-date information possible. We would be honored for you to provide
our attendees with your expertise on the Agency's issues that have a significant and direct impact
on their businesses. .

On a personal note, I recently spoke with Mike Means, my counterpart and good friend al the Oklahoma State Home Builders Association. I mentioned that we were planning to invite you to

speak at our Show, and he suggested that I shamelessly drop his name while extending this invitation. He expressed great admirations for you and said that you go way back from when you served as an Oklahoma State Senator, as Attorney General, and as owner of the Oklahoma City Redhawks (now the Oklahoma City Dodgers). Several years ago, Mike hosted a meeting of his Board of Directors at the Sunbelt Builders ShowTM, and we continue to draw attendees from your home state.
Thank you for your consideration of this invitation to speak at the 2017 Sunbelt Builders ShowTM in August. Please do not hesitate to contact Lorraine Urey in my office or me if you have any questions in this regard. We hope that your schedule will allow you to join us in Dallas and look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely.
