-lam hi, fwawtMiai 1985 TURNAROUND pg PONT BEAUMONT WORKS AMMONIA PLANT INSOLATION SCOPE OF WORK GENERAL The harps in the Ammonia plant Reformer will be changed at some time during the period from late April, 1985 to the end of June, 1985. This scope is in two parts. Scope "A" (firm bid) defines known detailed insul ation work. Scope "B" (labor s material) is the work that can only be defined after the shutdown and inspection. The insulation work will have to be scheduled with DuPont who will be dismanteling and rebuilding the internal piping. There will be "peak" and "valley" demands for manpower by the insulation contractor. The work inside the reformer will be done by "zones" and sequential order. l SCOPE "A" (FIRM BID) 1. INLET GAS HEADER The contractor will remove insulation as needed to allow installation of two new weldolets in top side of each of eight manifolds. These areas to be repaired when new pigtails are in place. 2. PIGTAILS There are forty two pigtails on each of the eight inlet manifolds (336 total). Three feet of insulation from the catalyst tube out shall be removed. After the installation of the new harps, the pigtails will be reinsulated per B-144940 and B-144950. There will be an additional 16 pigtails (352 total). 3. THE CATALYST TUBES Remove the insulation from the forty two catalyst tubes on each of the eight harps from the support plates to just below the weld neck flange on the top of the tubes. This includes a split line at the seal plates. The contractor will provide material and insulate the new catalyst tubes as shown on drawings B-144940 and B-144950. 4. OUTLET MANIFOLD The eight outlet manifolds have a three layer covering of ceramic fiber blanket wired on them. This has to be removed prior to pulling the eight harp sections. After installing new harps, the outlet manifolds will again have the three layer wrapping of ceramic fiber. This is two layers of two-inch thich and one layer of one-inch thick ceramic fiber wired on with one-sixteenth diameter Inconel wire. Final layer is coated with "LUDOX" Ridigizer. DuPont will supply the ceramic fiber and the Inconel wire. After DuPont approval of the firm bid work, the contractor will be released to start on the undefined work that will be determined by field inspection by DPPOST and the contractor. Job must be done rapidly with good quality. 2. All insulation work must be done in conjunction with other work in the reformer. The details of scheduling must be determined before shutdown. 3.
