At that time I said I felt v;e had now reached the point where our education on cleaning leaded gasoline tanks in the industry was bearing fruit and it was a rare occasion when we found tank cleaning crews not following our safety precautions. I have since checked back through our tank cleaning re ports for the period from January 1st to A&y 1st, 1941 and I am listing below the number of infractions noted on these reports. United States Canada Jobbers Total No. Cleaned 100 23 1 124 No, Infractions 6 1 1 3 You will note of a total of 124 tanks cleaned in this division, only eight showed any infractions whatever and most of these were of a very minor nature. They included such items as lack of sufficient spare clothingj criticism of the way the men "orked while in the tank; comment on insufficient cooperation from the foremen and items of that nature.
