Dear Dr. Henne: The experiment on combustion of carbon tetra chloride which we were carrying out last Saturday, was continued until '5:30, at which time the animals were re moved apparently in good condition. Nothing has happened to them since, and they are apparently entirely well. I have not yet calculated the concentrations of various gas es in the cage, but it seems reasonably certain from the results obtained that no appreciable amount of phosgene was produced in the experimental conditions. . I should have communicated this to you on Mon day, but I allowed the matter to go in order to make sure that the animals were all right. It is now quite certain, I believe, that nothing will happen to them. I shall expect to see you soon again when you find it convenient to come down and continue the experi ments. Kindest regards.
