Bryant - Wilmington 0_,^-l---Xor.dex_. J. R. Fallon - G.O. R. - H. Munch - So. 2nd W. R. Richard - G.O. S. 0. Kemp I have compared the proposed G.E. specification for Aroclor 1221 to the limited information available presently at Anniston. The proposed specifications for Acid Number and Water essentially appear con sistent with our history on Aroclor 1221 and other Aroclors. i ` The proposed Specific Gravity determination at 15.5/15.5C is a change from the temperature now employed (25/1 5.50C) at Anniston. A slight change in Viscosity is also proposed (4.1-4.6 CS) from the current Monsanto specification (3.7-4.6 CS). If possible, I recommend that the current product speqifications for Specific Gravity and Viscosity be rjetained over that proposed by G.E. to be con sistent with past experience with this product. . Although no information on Aroclor 1221 regarding Freq Chloride levels is available, a change should be considered on the ,proposed specification of NDA to a value consistent with past electrical grade Aroclor experience (i.e. 0.05 PPM Max. for Aroclors 124?, 1254). In his memo dated 5/25, Dr. Munch described the inherent problems in Crystallizing Point determina tions as proposed by G.E. -The Anniston experience 'in other product areas coincides with his recommenda tions. ' No information is presently available at Anniston on the remaining specifications.. 0. T. Bell /dp Olm*9 TOWOLDMONOQ57185
